Terms of Use

These terms control access to and use of Midland County Criminal History. Visiting a page, reading its content, or using a search tool means that the user accepts every condition below. Anyone who does not agree should stop using the site.

NO FCRA USE. Midland County Criminal History is privately operated and has no affiliation with a local, state, or federal government body. Neither this site nor its advertising partners provide a service intended for credit, employment, tenant, insurance, or any other use regulated by the Fair Credit Reporting Act. We are not a consumer reporting agency or private investigation company.

1. What This Website Is

This private reference site does not keep official records, retrieve documents, perform official checks, or submit filings. It identifies Midland County Sheriff and court resources, the Texas Department of Public Safety Crime Records Division, and the Texas Public Sex Offender Registry, along with outside research tools.

Public access remains subject to Texas law. Government Code Chapter 552 governs many local agency records, Government Code Section 411.135 authorizes DPS to release specified conviction and deferred-adjudication information, and other laws restrict nonpublic data.

2. Rules for Using This Site

Users agree not to:

  • Violate a federal, Texas, or local law through use of the site
  • Threaten, stalk, intimidate, or harass another person
  • Use the content for a hiring, housing, lending, or insurance decision
  • Attempt unauthorized entry into any account, server, or system
  • Deploy scrapers, bots, or other automated collection tools
  • Interfere with site operation or another visitor's access

3. No Harassment, Stalking, or Discrimination

Information from this site or a linked service may not be used to harass, threaten, stalk, intimidate, or unlawfully discriminate against anyone. Texas Code of Criminal Procedure Chapter 62 and the official registry warnings govern sex offender information. A registry entry exists for safety awareness, not vigilantism or retaliation, and misuse can carry criminal consequences.

4. We Are Not a Consumer Reporting Agency

We do not prepare credit reports, background checks, or consumer reports. Users may not apply site content or linked results to:

  • A decision to employ, retain, or dismiss a person
  • A rental or other housing decision
  • Credit terms or insurance eligibility and pricing
  • Eligibility for a license, permit, or public program
  • Any additional purpose governed by the FCRA

A regulated check must be obtained from an appropriate official source or a screening provider that complies with the FCRA.

5. No Legal Advice

General explanations about Midland County records are not legal advice. We cannot apply Texas law to an individual's warrant, charge, conviction, expunction, nondisclosure request, or pending case. A licensed Texas attorney can provide advice about a particular matter.

6. No Warranties

The site and its content are supplied "as is." No warranty is made that:

  • Any page or linked result is accurate, complete, or current
  • Service will remain available without interruption
  • The site is free from defects, errors, or security weaknesses
  • An outside search provider will return complete or correct results

Midland County and Texas records can change after charges are filed, dismissed, restricted, or expunged. Only the government custodian can confirm the current official record.

7. Third-Party Services and Links

Links can lead to Midland County offices, Texas agencies, courts, legal resources, and commercial search providers. Those destinations control their content, pricing, availability, and data practices. We accept no responsibility for an outside service, and users should review its terms before proceeding.

8. Intellectual Property

Text, code, logos, and graphics on this site are owned by Midland County Criminal History or the applicable content partner. They may not be copied, altered, redistributed, or used to create another work without prior written permission.

9. Limits on Our Liability

To the fullest extent permitted by law, we are not responsible for losses or damages arising from site use, inability to use the site, or reliance on information from a page or linked service.

10. Indemnification

A user agrees to defend and hold us harmless from claims, demands, proceedings, fees, and related costs caused by that user's conduct, site use, or violation of these terms.

11. Governing Law

Texas law governs these terms. Any dispute related to use of the site must be brought in a court located in Texas, subject to applicable jurisdiction and venue rules.

12. Changes to These Terms

We may revise these terms. A revision takes effect when the updated language is posted on this page.

13. Cutting Off Access

Access may be restricted or ended at any time, without advance notice, for any reason allowed by law.

14. Severability

If a court finds one provision invalid or unenforceable, the remaining terms continue in force. The affected provision will be limited only to the extent required to make it enforceable.

15. Questions

Questions about these terms may be directed through the Contact page.
